| Technology - Low-Cost Notebooks Propel Intel, Via in Q2 |  | The low-cost notebook or “netbook” market helped increase Intels and Vias share of the worldwide x86 microprocessor market in the second quarter of 2008, according to a new study by Mercury Research. The demand for low-cost laptops also increased as HP, Lenovo, Acer, and Asus brought new netbooks in the market. At the same time Intel and Via saw their share of the chip market increase, AMDs processor share slipped.
